About Myself
My name is Derek and I currently work at AGI as a Senior Designer.
I joined Sonicon Studio in May 2000 as a part time Junior Designer while I was finishing studies at the London College of Printing. Since then I have been promoted to middle weight designer at AGI and then Senior Designer in 2006. I have worked on many media-based projects, but become specialised in working with all major Home Entertainment Studios. Whether handling packaging from Key Art creation to final format design, executing press and outdoor advertising campaigns or as more recently, developing self-taught web and interactive skills to provide new media solutions for the clients (as well as teaching others these new skills within the department), I have experience and skill leading a team, art directing the output as well as direct communication with the client.
Prior to moving to Britain, I studied Graphic Design at an art college close to Barcelona (Spain), and did a number of freelance jobs while studying. My passion lies in Design and anything creative (photography being a main hobby), and thanks to an interest with the more technical aspects of things I'm proficient with all design software packages and recently self-taught web programming in a range on applications (such as Flash and Dreamweaver).
One interesting fact: Even though my incredibly English name doesn't suggest it, I'm actually born and bred in Barcelona.
